It is completely ok to hold your bearded dragon the 1st day unless it is scared. If it is not scared it is best to hold as much as possible. This info only applies if holding them stresses them out. Do not let them free roam though. Also do not assume that dark lines on their stomach indicates stress at this age. It is completely normal.

I love to love my pets. So sometimes i kiss or handle him until he gets mildly annoyed at me for being in his bubble. Once he is visibly annoyed, I just give him a cricket right after, which is a fair enough trade-off for him.😅

in july 2016 I weighed 180 at 5'10. I was 55. Back in 2000 I finished a half iron so I know carido but I really never need to watch what I eat cause I did so much carido. At my 60th birthday I weighed in at 280 and told I was pre diabetic. I lost 4o pounds but like you I tend to yoyo. I do suffer from treated drepression. I've been sober for now 38 years, finally quit smoking for the last 15 years. But you need food to live. Anyway in March of 2023 I was back to 270 and my body was pissed at me. We have a running festival and it motivated me to do the 5k, no walking. Got back down to 240 and did the race. Of course I slacked and in April of 2024 I hit 280 for the second time and was getting dizzy standing up and wearing 42 size pants. So being sick a d tierd of being sick and tired, I set the goal of getting back to 180. Yes, 100 pounds. In October of 2026 I will turn 65 and I eyes on my first marathon. So happy for ya and say a prayer for my journey. No more YoYos!😊😊
